Who We Are
The Family Enrichment Center is a grassroots non-profit agency created by foster, adoptive, and kinship parents who had a desire to help children have a successful "out of home" placement. The idea of such a center originated over the telephone back in 1995 while two foster parents were discussing the needs of foster families and the "gap" in services that meet these needs. It was decided that Calhoun County needed an agency that would attempt to close these "gaps" in available services. Now our success has spread to a total of 18 counties in Michigan thanks to a partnership with the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services.
We exist to fill the gaps of the child welfare system by providing training, support, mentoring and services to all families, with an emphasis on adoptive, foster and kinship families.
Collaborating with area agencies, individuals and businesses to improve the quality of all families, especially foster, adoptive and kinship families.
Compassion for families in need of assistance.
Providing drop-in services, low cost daycare and quality educational opportunities for all families through our Take A Break childcare center.
Empowering every family to make an unconditional commitment to every child.
