
Kinship Care Services
Kinship Care Services advocates for and provides supportive services to families raising related children.
These services include, but are not limited to, the following:

educational workshops, trainings, and conferences

intergenerational activities

support groups community resource information/referral

respite care

assistance with clothing, school supplies and other items

a lending library of books and videos

Sharon Dewey
Family Enrichment Center's Kinship Care Coordinator Is Sharon Dewey. She and her husband, Bob, were foster parents for 22 years. They fostered all ages, and have adopted 5 children in addition to having 4 birth children.
​
She is currently a Foster Care Navigator with FEC's Foster care resource team and provides guidance to those interested in becoming foster parents in 8 of the 18 counties.
​

SUPPORT GROUPS
Support groups currently meeting:
-
Kinship Support Group meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month from 12:30 - 2:30 pm at the Family Enrichment Center. **No childcare provided**

Afternoon Kinship Support Group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 6:30 - 7:30 pm at the Family Enrichment Center. Limited Childcare provided. Please call 269-274-4077 to pre-register.
